120528 MBC Come to Play with Sungmin and Ryeowook

1.  Talking about Ryeowook’s cooking —

SM: I’ve tasted a lot of Ryeowook’s cooking. The appearance is important too, right? But I really don’t know how it taste.
RW: It’s delicious after all!

2. What if someone come to visit your house suddenly? —

Q: What food would you choose if you don’t have much time and money and someone come to your house suddenly?
SM: I’ll treat them with beef Kimchi stew. It’s an honorary ambassador of Korean food.

3.  The MC asked what Sungmin was best at cooking.

Sungmin: The elaborate dessert that was mentioned earlier. Actually, I’m best at making very basic/practical things like seaweed soup.
Ryeowook: Sungmin is a good son. On his mom’s birthday, he made her seaweed soup. Even on his own birthday, he made that for her.
Sungmin: My mom had the soup when I was born. That was why I thought I should make it for her.

4. Sungmin “The first time I cooked was when I was 9” —

*On Sungmin cooking lists are omlette filled with fried rice, sushi with friend tofu, black bean sauce tteokbokki, dumpling soup and ramen*

SM: The first time I cooked was when I was 9 because my brother and I needed to go to an academy. I tried to imitate my mom’s cooking skill. My brother didn’t eat spicy food so he liked the black bean sauce Ddeokbokki. He even invited his friends to eat.
MC: What does he do?
SM: He’s an University student.
RW: He’s a scholarship student.
MC: Ladies, you should find this type of man to date!!

5. Sungmin “The first time I cooked was when I was 9” —

7. What’s Sungmin’s favorite late night meal? —

Q: What’s your favourite late night meal?
SM: I like spicy pork hocks but you need to wear plastic gloves before using your hands.

8. Sungmin “Mom usually cooks for me, it gives me energy” —

SM: I can’t go home very often so when I did, my mom usually cooks beef steamed with Kimchi for me. It gives me energy and so I don’t forget it!

9. Sungmin “I wonder if a man and his wife often cook together in reality” —

10. Sungmin is wise and careful in dating? —

*Psycological test*

Q: What do you eat first when you eat Ramen?
A: Sungmin chose to drink the soup first. It indicates that this person is wise and careful in dating. Also that other people can’t easily guess his heart. (Sungmin kept nodding during this question and answer)

11. MC: What is the most delicious thing you’ve tasted in your memory?

Sungmin: Lately, I’ve been very busy, so I don’t go home often. But everytime I do return home, mom would make me Kimchi Stew with pork belly. I felt so loved and happy! I often think of that taste when I’m working!!

12. All the tasting judges agree the ‘tokbokki’ Sungmin cooked was very delicious. Don’t we have ‘jajangmyeon’ which is even tastier than this!!! As a night-time snack, it’s not only delicious but also easy to make. It’s really great. Compared with what Sungmin’s partner cooked, I think Sungmin’s ‘tokbokki’ is truly amazing.

13.  Sungmin: I was in middle school year 2 when I cooked my first meal. I let my mom and dad taste it and also fed my brother. My brother was going to school and I was rushing to school as well. When I saw mom cooking, I stood beside her and just observed what she was doing. At that time, my brother’s favourite dish was ‘tokbokki’ (but made with non-spicy sauce). He couldn’t take spicy food very well.

These days, many children can’t eat spicy food. So I created ‘jajang tokbokki’ by using the ‘jajang’ sauce (black soybean sauce) instead of the spicy sauce. That way, he can eat it since it’s not too spicy.
